I've been drawn to the arts and photography since I was a young child. In my early years, I had spent quite a bit of time going on photography trips with my uncle, a renowned nature and landscape photographer. My early creativity and love for documenting and capturing moments continued into college, where I worked as a marketing graduate assistant creating content for web and social media. I couldn't put the camera down. I fell in love with every aspect of it.
Ever since I picked up a camera many years ago, I have loved taking a purposeful photography approach. As a husband and father of my children, I know how important it is to savor every fleeting moment. A photograph or a video sequence can catch the natural and candid emotion that can be adored, appreciated, and passed on to coming generations. This is what drives me and why I strive to document the special moments shared between loved ones in a way that can stand the test of time. Doing so is a gift I am honored and delighted to share.
Hi, I'm Emil! I am a fine-art wedding photographer based in Anniston, Alabama. I am married to my gorgeous wife, Hayley. She's my best friend and the most amazing human I've met. Together, we have two beautiful children, John Penn and Pippa Jane. Our home is full of love, laughter, and reckless silliness.
I was born and raised in Norway. I lived in Europe for 18 years before moving to the U.S. in 2007 to attend college. While attending JSU, I competed for the school's tennis team, but most importantly, I met the love of my life while struggling our ways through a math class. From the time I laid eyes on her, I knew I'd marry her–as cliche as it sounds. I even told my best friend, who did not believe me as Hayley was (and still is) way out of my league. We got married in 2013 with family and friends from across the world celebrating our love. It was the best day of our lives. Since then, we have laughed at ourselves more than not, had many fierce ping-pong battles, experienced the most beautiful moments, and changed countless diapers. Though we have been married for seven years, we are still learning about each other–to know another is to love another.
